Belgium

Belgium has an extensive network of interesting long-distance cycling routes, which allow you to explore this fascinating country. The clearly marked-out trails - many of which are car-free, high quality and safe - will give you an unforgettable cycling experience. And when you take breaks, make sure to try the local beer (there are about 224 breweries in Belgium, so the next one is never far away), a bag of chips with your favourite sauce and for desert, some good Belgian chocolate! You'll be sure to leave with renewed energy for exploring the country's cycle routes.

There are 5 EuroVelo routes which cross this wonderful country: routes 3, 4, 5, 12 and 19, adding up to a total of over 1000 km. In Wallonia, routes 3, 5 and 19 follow the RAVeL networks for the most part. In Brussels, you will pass the capital’s extraordinary sights. In Flanders, routes 4 and 12 go along the coast and route 19 follows the Meuse River. Each country has a national coordinator to ensure the smooth running of its routes and to answer any questions travellers might have, and “Pro Velo” is fulfilling this role for Belgium.
